MIC has made a wonderful change in my life. It has made me improve in my work and to be a better person. This Foundation helps children with their high school fees through a scholarship and gives supplies to the school. They are also giving away tablets for your studies and much more. The Foundation was launched at the Mt. Waddy Primary School. They treated the students and gave us t shirts too. When the treat was over we all took pictures, and they were published in the newspaper and sent to other countries.

To me MIC means that I should be on the right track, to study my books and to read and write better. MIC means Mighty in Character. I am a very mighty person in my character. I love to come first in my class. I am a bright girl. I do not want to waste time. MIC also means to do the things that are right and loving. I like to share, and I respect everyone because I am respectful and patient. I am MIC.

Michael A Folkes launches the Foundation's first initiative - April 14th 2014

"The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively." - Bob Marley

"Better words cannot be said to describe Michael Folkes. He is a man of great integrity. He is altruistic, an honest and humble human being. One that respects all. It was a moment of joy and celebration at the kick-off of the Melbourne and Michael Folkes Foundation. The students' faces were lit up with excitement. They were attentive and very participative during Michael's speech. They welcomed him with open arms, spontaneously embracing him throughout the day. They enjoyed his company and from the emotions on Michael's face and his actions towards them one could tell it was a mutual feeling.

On April 14th 2014, something extraordinary and fulfilling started in Friendship, Jamaica. All who were present were reminded that no matter where you are from, no matter who you are, there is no excuse not to make something good of your life and to be the very best at what you do.

We were also reminded that we should keep God at the centre of everything we do and that our characters should be of kindness, truth, sharing and caring.

The day was one that will forever be etched in the minds of all who were present and is highlighted as the first footprint in the sand of a remarkable journey of helping others."

Claudine Rose, Secretary, Melbourne and Michael Folkes Foundation

"If you do not believe it, how can we achieve it?" - Michael A Folkes
